About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Comunicata Scientiae is an international journal publishing research related to horticultural crops. Articles in the journal deal with all areas of horticulture - fruits, vegetables, aromatic and medicinal plants, edible fungi, ornamentals and landscape architecture, under temperate, subtropical and tropical conditions. Original articles, scientific notes and review articles are published in the journal in English.
Peer Review Process
Firstly all articles received are evaluated by Editor-in-Chief. The evaluation process is initiated when the manuscript is approved in pre-selection criteria.
The manuscript is directed to a scientific editor according to its submission area, who chose two or three experts already registered in Comunicata Scientiae, to evaluate the manuscript.
The evaluation of both referees is send to the scientific editor that contacts the corresponding author to make corrections when necessary.
After acceptance by referees and scientific editor the manuscript is directed to Editor-in-Chief for final acceptance and language review (English, Portuguese and Spanish), when its send to layout editor.
This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process
Publication Frequency
From 2020 (v11) Comunicata Scientiae adopted the continuous publication format.
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Article Processing Charges
This journal does not have article processing charges (APC) but a publication fee of BRL 800 (BRL = Brazilian Real) is charged after manuscript acceptance.
Author(s) Copyright and Publishing Rights
This the journal allow the author(s) to hold the copyright and retain publishing rights without restrictions.
Number of Authors
The in 01/24/2022, the journal will accept a maximum number of 8 authors.
